I guess it's a safety issue. because the swings and playground equipment was there before
I'll offer you a true story that will hopefully shed some light on the condition of the park.. When they Installed that water playground at the park several years ago, the weekend following the installation and the construction was completed, it was immediately vandalized. Some parts even damaged. The mayor at the time, so furious that people in his own community would do such a thing to a water playground for children in the park, he publicly announced, in so many words, that there is no point in pouring Pottstown's limited resources in community and Parks and Rec services for the community, that it would be difficult to Justify any type of community projects if certain likely High School age Pottstownians are going to react in such a manner.
Playground is currently under construction
They are supposed to be remodeling the playground equipment. Hopefully they'll add toddler friendly items.
