What would happen if the area floods and gator land ends up becoming flooded. Where do the gators go? Are the big ones locked up somewhere and protected?

They drain the water area and get the water levels very low in preparation for the large amount of rain. The pumps are on generators in case they need to drain during the storm. The Staff will also stay at the park during the Storm to monitor the conditions of the Park and make adjustments if necessary. Along with 6 foot fence around the gator the is a secondary fence around the entire Park. Honestly you should be more worried about the gators in our local ponds and canals.

The gator "pens" all have fences around 6 feet high and Gatorland itself is far enough inland that storm surge should not reach there. If central Florida gets over 6 feet of rain than escaped gators will be the least of their problems.

You know this is Florida right? And you know these creatures have survived for millions of years right?

So if it becomes flooded, the gators are from right here. They're already home. Theres more already outside.

Ron Fox | Aug 16, 2019

They get sent to foster homes selected at random from recent visitors

Depends on how flooded it gets. I'm sure they have a contingency plan for such emergencies.
