Hannah, swimming is not permitted at Marsh Creek Lake.
The actual lake is more for paddle boarding, kayaking, and boating. There is a swimming pool that is part of the state park at the end of the main entrance road up the hill from the restroom/snack bar area.
swimming is not suggested, but there were plenty of people swimming this weekend. We went for kayaking.
It was not an oil spill but nontoxic drilling mud. Swimming has always been prohibited in marsh Creek Lake however there is a swimming pool with a daily entrance fee in the park.
Honestly I don't know. I thought years ago they had a public swimming pool. I go to take nature photos, not much of a water person. Sorry.
There was recently an oil spill in the area, so I wouldn't suggest it right now. But normally yes, you can be in the water
