Veselka, 2nd Ave at 9th St. Pommes Frites on MacDougal St is awesome, but it is exclusively fries...but the best ones you will eat anywhere. There is also a Cuban place on Thompson called Cuba, ironically, 2 blocks east of MacDougal that is great.
