There is space there. Im not sure if its allowed but I saw people there playing with their dogs off leash.
A much better place for your dog to run around off leash and socialize with other dogs, is the Bark Park at Ellicott Creek Park on Niagara Falls Blvd. It is located on an island, and the dogs have access to the creek for swimming or just walking in water. There are places to sit, shelters, a library kiosk, and I think even those iron barbecue things you put your own charcoal in. Also there are restrooms. Please take some bags to pick up your doggie's poop! This place is THE best lace for dogs AND humans to socialize-and there are even mature trees so you and your dog aren't broiling in the open sun, like at so many other dog parks. This park is located on the Blvd as you go towards Wheatfield on the Blvd.
It's a great place to let your dog off leash, but be aware that it is at your own risk, as the previous review states. There are several beautiful trails along the river and big open spaces of land.
That is an absolutely correct answer I walk my dog there twice a day
The park is dog friendly however, NYS Park laws state all dogs must be restrained by a leash no more than 6 feet in length and they must be cleaned up after. I have been several times and regularly see well behaved dogs off leash. Amherst Paw Park does have a fenced in off leash area for dogs.
