I agree with " it depends". Mornings are best when its warm. It can be nice if freshly groomed, but will likely end up like heavy mashed potatoes by afternoon. Good news is that its cold out now. All-in-all, a day outside on the snow is better than many things!
It's definitely more comfortable but get there early as your peak runs will be between 9 and 11. After that, snow turns to mashed potatoes and keeping your speed up becomes problematic.
What i found, agreeing with others, is the sun his it, softens it up, then the shade comes along and you have ice across the top. So once the sun starts to shift, watch out for those that patches of shade, they are usually icy.
They have a decent amount of snowpack this year so one day in the 50's won't prevent decent skiing. But it all depends on the weather the day BEFORE you plan on arriving. If the previous day was no warmer than freezing and overnight low was in the upper 20's (or lower) and they were able to make snow, you'll be fine but get there early. If it stays above freezing for more than 24 hours you might want to postpone as it will get very wet and slow
Ive been up at 40 and 60 and its nice but dont go to late when it turns into slush
Terrible, don't go this weekend 😎 will be Crowder
On warm days the best skiing is in the morning. If you're there at opening you'll get some good runs.
It depends, it can be very pleasant if the snow is fresh, or it can be slushy and ice and no fun
Very warm. Snow will be melting so it'll be loose. Just 1 layer of clothes because you'll get pretty hot
