If you have the receipt, you should be able to activate it at your local Kum & Go. The company has changed a lot with the way things are processed. It's not the most user-friendly interface that they had.
I had the EXACT same issue with this exact store. I purchased two Amazon gift cards from here and neither of them worked. This was last Christmas. What I did at the time (after the two recipients reached out stating that my gifts didnt work) I drove to the store luckily to find the clerk I worked with, whom called the corporate location in Des Moines and had to submit an issue request and get a few things from me, [reciept information, transaction #...etc.] then I waited I believe 2 weeks for a refund. You might be able to accomplish the same result if you call the store with your reciept in hand and take care of it that way. Also, I had both failed gift cards when I returned to the store. Might help if you also have the failed card in your possession when submitting this issue report. Hope this helps.
