Is the campground open year round, more specifically will it be open Thanksgiving week?

I know i went down after Thanksgiving. I did not stay at the campground. I stayed at a primative campsite up the road. A donation box is located at the entrance. That was a few years ago though. Hope that helps a little.

I would be very cautious as to when you go as that is during hunting season. Check with Rangers before going so you and your horses are safe.
