The zoo is 500 acres of mainly wooded terrain. There is local wildlife there. I didn't see any wild snakes but I did surprise a raccoon that was trying to raid a trash can.
There were signs but I did not see any in the open.
Yes there is snakes moving around because when I last went there I saw a black snake and it crawled close to my feet.
The captive snakes that the zoo has do not crawl around freely, but snakes native to the area may be seen from time to time since you are in a wooded area. I've never seen one personally.
I just went today and there was one on the path
I've never seen a snake crawl before. I have seen slither though.
Just the ones local to NC which are rare. Just like anywhere else you go outside in a wooded NC area.
As others have indicated, there is always a possibility of seeing a snake that is not a part of the contained snake habitat. But, it is rare. In my two seasons, working as a volunteer, I have not seen one. The NC Zoo is a must see attraction!
There are signs up letting you know that they can be I was just there and didn't see any on the paths
Seen a black snake before in the area but this is common for NC
