Why is it that I, as a disabled person that gets around town using my scooter (which has a headlight and brake lights) is not allowed to use the drive up and is being made to come into the store when I can't even open the door by myself

It's actually a stupid insurance thing. If your vehicle isn't 100% street legal, that could be liable if you get hurt in the drive-through. On the other hand, you probably have legitimate cause under the ADA to require that they install door openers. Send a letter to corporate or, better yet have a lawyer do so.

If you were hit by a %100 percent legal vehicle, would you sue? That's why. It's not the business's fault we live in a litigious society.

I have a motor scooter with the head lights and the tail lights.I am disabled . Some places you can use the drive up, some places you can not .What makes it hard when we go inside is most of these places do not have automatic doors for the handicap. It would be nice if they did, but they do not.
