You'll need a snowmobile to get around anywhere on Grand Mesa this time of year.
There is soooo much snow up there right now. Typically Ward Lake opens the last week of June, it may be later this year since there has been over 400 inches of snow on the Grand Mesa. Campgrounds close in October. All camping on the Mesa is first come first served except for Vega State Park.
It's worth the drive , so beautiful up there but stay on main road if theres snow.
