I don't know about swimming, I went fishing and caught 5 fish in about 30 minutes, the limit, It was real muddy,close to the water I was afraid of getting stuck in the mud
I was their 4 days ago we went swimming and fishing wasn't that bad. You just can't have a fire or BBQ with charcoal do the dryness.

Yes it is open me and my family just recently went camping up there the water is low but there are parts of the store on the other side that are exposed now, that you can get in without the mud

It is open, but the water level is very low due to restoration of the dam. Possible for kayaking but definitely not for swimming as the low water level caused very thick muddy (and smelly) areas. We went craw fishing and caught a lot but ended up throwing them away coz we saw maggots on one of them. We went kayaking and fishing at Comins Lake instead.
