Hi Carol, No, kids aren't free unless it's a special they are having or something. The cost for bowling is charged per person by how many games they play or want to play. They have option and stuff to help kids play and make it fun for them such as the bumpers they put up that block the gutters on the sides so that kids will normally hit and knock down pins every time they roll the ball down the lane without any worries of it going into the gutters on the sides of the alley. They also have a ramp the parent or someone else can help the kid with if the kid is too little or unable to throw the ball down the lane themselves. So it can be fun for the whole family, no matter the kid's ages which is why they charge per game played by each person. I hope this helps answer your question!
