Yes, as long as you're a citizen of Ohio and can otherwise purchase a pistol, a CCW is not necessary. Unless something has changed, a CCW in Ohio just means you can skip the 4473 paperwork.
Yes i have bought 2 guns and plan on getting more ohio is a open carry state you can have your gun on you as long as it is on the outside and visible or you can buy one and just leave it at home until you get your ccw
One thing that I would like to say is that having a CCW doesn't speed up the process of purchasing of a weapon at least at Vance. They will do all the paperwork regardless. If you pass the background check you can purchase almost any weapon.
All you need is to be of age, have a valid I.D., and ps a background check. I would highly advise searching Ohio attorney general.gov and learning the laws before purchasing. Learn how to legally carry and transport a firearm in ohio.
