thank you Denise! can you tell me about how much you pay per month for utilities? my fiance and I want to move here when our lease is up but this is our main concern. we moved to a place once that was horribly insulated and were paying like 200 some winters with our heat being just on 70! I would appreciate it so much.
Utilities aren't super horrible but due to the age of the property you will need to do some smart insulation hacks. Like covering all windows with curtains/draperies because they're old and drafty. During extreme cold winters, even covering the front & back doors are helpful - for the same reason. I used an old blanket. If the thermostat is still old, have them replace it. Otherwise the furnace will be running constantly.
