My two favorites are the Cottage Pie as well as the Steak and Ale Pie. They also have a Cornish Pasty on the menu that is pretty good.
Order the Shepherd's pie.
You can't go wrong with the chicken pot pie. If you go on a Friday, the lamb shank is to die for. But call ahead to see if they're serving it that night. (It used to be available every night. Best on Earth!) And the Yorkshire pudding with gravy is to die for, but you'd have to order it on the side unless you get the roast beef. The curry is pretty good with chutney. The only dessert to order is the apple or rhubarb pie with hot Bird's custard! And I always get the Old Speckled Hen beer.
Fish & chips excellent! Go w/the haddock, just great & the onion rings, clam chowder also good. Oh & the cottage pie! Yum! Good beer goes w/out saying!
The fish and chips, plus a beverage of your choice. ...also, our waitress made some great suggestions, so you can always ask what they would recommend to you.
