I applied for a job and have been calling everyday to check but no one ever picks up the phone is there another way to check on the status of my app?

You could always go there and ask to speak the manager.

If asking to speak with manager doesn't work ask to talk to the managers boss

Most definitely if your serious about a job going there shows so much determination to get the job....shows more effort
