It did take some time to get our food but it's considered in season, hence all the snowbirds!! Once we got out food, it was worth the wait. Absolutely delicious and fresh! And stop complaining about the plastic utensils, that's what gives it the authentic fishing village down-home feel. To complain about actually not getting silverware it's just flat-out PETTY!
I heard that they haven’t gotten their silverware and dishes back yet from the last time they were flooded out. Our service and food was very, very good. They were also very accommodating with our seating even without a reservation. Don’t give up on them yet!
As for the plastic place settings...I asked about why and was lied to straight faced. I was told that Citrus County was making all waterfront restaurants do this. That was a bold face lie. I called different waterfront restaurants and asked and was told absolutely not. It's just the opposite. We've been going here for many many years and this last time was our last.
Same for me. It took 2 hours from once we ordered to get food, I hope they are able to get back to where they were in the past.
I am,a long time customer and I want to tell those who read this why they serve their food on paper plates. Their kitchen space is very small and they simply have no room for a skullery and dishwashing machine, hence, they serve their food on paper plates and bowls.
We went there yesterday on our 3rd anniversary. It was horrible. I ordered a Dirty Martini it came back half empty and warm!! I drank it but should have complained. The 2nd one i ordered i had to tell waitress how to make a martini - that you chill the glass with ice AND then you add vodka olive juice and sweet vermouth and shake it with ice. A lot!! This one sat at the bar so long i got up and got it and brought it back to table! I wanted surf and Turf, supposed to be prime rib and lobster. They didnt have prime rib so she gave me a choice of ribeye or t-bone. When we got Bill, she up-charged $4 because of no prime rib!! Steak came very thin cut and lobster was sitting on top of steak on a small paper plate! Potato wasnt done! Husband ordered clam chowder in a paper bowl with plastic spoon. Captains feast. Ha! Small paper plate. Very small helping of fish. His potato wasnt done either. We have been there many times. Never again. Bill came 2 over $80. He had tea. We complained to mgr
There is a reason they have to use plastic...they hope to win the battle and get back to real dinnerware. . Service needs improvement for sure! Our dinner was outstanding!
My last experience was with reservations. It was a perfect dinner and perfect service. Sometimes they are slammed but I have never been there at those moments. Will continue to go back
