As has been pointed out, the intersection of Ocean and Commercial has lots of restaurants and things going on, within walking distance of the Tides. Its better to leave your car at the hotel since parking can be scarce on weekends and during season. Its a great location, quiet when you want it but stuff going on nearby on weekend nights.
There is a Publix within about a block for groceries. Anglin's Fishing Pier is within walking distance and has lots of shops, restaurants, and bars. There are many restaurants on Ocean drive and commercial boulevard.
