Depends... If you have other animals at home of same species (dogs), they may require a meet n greet. Also whether the animal is spayed or neutered. If they are not, they can either stay until the surgery is done or the shelter may let the animal go home if you agree & sign to bring the animal to get the surgery done, as required by law and adoption agreement.
