Just went yesterday and walked right in. Probably more crowded on the weekends.

Best to arrive around 8 am. To scan code. The waiting time could be about 1/1 1/2 hour waiting time
What I did was since it was the weekend was super busy! I scanned the QR code walked around sightseeing in Manhattan around the Harry Potter Store. after about 2 hours, I got a text saying the store was ready for me.
Depends of the hour but it's no longer than one hour and a half. My advice is that you scan the code and wait near by.
I would go early. Though, when I was there I had 900 people in front of me and I only waited about an hour and a half.
Come befor the store opens, depending on how early you are is how many ppl will be infront of you, if your going on a weekday it may be less crowed if you go early but if your planning on going on a weekend go at like 8 or 9 am and scan. Have fun
