I had a tooth pulled yesterday. I had a heck of a time stopping the bleeding, if I did. I woke up a few time in the night, and my tongue was covered with blood and blood coming out of the side of the mouth. Is that normal?

Have you been taking anything with aspirin in it? This will thin the blood and cause excessive bleeding. Smoking, drinking from a straw, drinking carbonated drinks (beer, pop, ect.), sucking on candy, can cause a clot to come out and prevent another to form.
