As long as you lock your doors is well lite was on way home been driving for 10 hrs need take nap only had 60miles left and lucky my key were in ignition so dinged when door open some homeless person or thief had opened my back door tried to steal my cooler. Any rest stop in Maryland its legal to rest there if warm spring time just crack windows try park in spot that catches breeze also can roll down back windows 4 5 inches if you put child door locks on so can't be opened from inside back car leave both front windows 1/2 inch open be my advice. I will say they have very clean bathrooms though only use stalls at night and don't hand anything on hook there reach over grab coat purses ect not at welcome center but smaller truck stops be carefull.

Absolutely. I've napped her on solo trips a number of times. It's a high-traffic area, & feels much safer than rural rest areas. Like anywhere else, keep your doors locked. I tend to keep my car running, for music, or air...whatever, & I've never had anyone bother me in 25+ years of roadtrips. I keep an eyemask & a pillow handy for naps, and that's a definite bonus.

Yes...but always take precautions. Never let your guard down.

Have napped here many times. Never had an incident or saw anything suspicious. Park closer to the building where there's very high door traffic and not on the far outskirts, you should be fine.

Although there is no permanent security, the State Troopers do pass through periodically. It is a high traffic area and well lite. Maybe not the safest place to nap at night, but better than most.

Probably not the best place to sleep. Wouldn't do it alone.

Dr. Lucie M. Kay | Nov 7, 2018

Probably. If your doors are locked, and your windows are only open a crack, it would probably be safe. I would only do it by day, however, and only in a busy area. Safe travels!
