Yes, Maryland requires all vehicles to be insured before they can get tags, even temp tags. If you do not have insurance yet you can call them and they can connect you to an insurance broker who works with multiple insurance agencies.
Nope- need insurance to get tags, may also have to get car inspected, but I think u can get temp tags for that but insurance is 1st step. Good luck MD TAG N TITLE will probably have answers to all your questions, they will forever be my 'go to' for tag/title issues
