I think Poncho's on Central has been open for over 45 years. I am 58 and far back as I can remember they have always been open. They were never a Buffet like the other Poncho's that were around such as in Scottsdale-Los Arcos Mall, on Indian School Rd., Phoenix, and on I think on Country Club in Mesa. One thing that was different about the Poncho's on Central was they appeared a little racist, my mother and I went down there for food about 20 years ago nd they had a sign showing that depicted Blacks were lazy. We were shocked and my mother never went back there fter that. She's deceased now but she never ate there again. Another situation happened when my son was looking for a job and they had a sign up stating they were hiring, and he went in Poncho's to fill out an application, and they said the job was already filled, even though the sign was still up, this just happened about 3 years ago. So it made me look at Poncho's on Central different. Oh well, who cares.
Pretty sure they celebrated 40 years a few years back. Been going for 25 years and it's been there a lot longer than that. ❤
