Why are there so many student care givers in the ER? Seems to be more students than registered staff. I realize they all need to learn but not in the ER.

All students have to learn, and all students are required as part of their certification to spend a rotation in the ER. They are well supervised by the attending practitioners while they are working, and they don't make independent decisions as students.

That's odd because I had the same exact well seasoned nurses at every one of my ER visits over the last couple of years Nurse Betty and Nurse Chad and they clearly knew what they were doing and treated me with great professional care

Was just a assessment? Or just giving meds? Students don't need to be supervised 100% of the time. When they do clinical & rotations, they are pretty much done with school, and are waiting to take the Nclex before becoming licensed.

So you were there? NO he was not supervised by a registered nurse. That is the complaint. They were not supervised, there was only one registered nurse and three students. She could not POSSIBLY supervise them all.
