Call the DMV with the VIN or Plate number and the name of the seller, so they can advise you on what to do. Trailers tend to be trickier because 5/10 times the person who sold it never filed the correct paperwork. There are at least 6 likely scenarios 3 of which involve the trailer being inspected by a local law enforcement auto theft division.
