The drag strip was closed not kennedale speedway park. The dirt track.

The dirt track is still open every Saturday till October.
No ritzy neighborhood but the City wanted it so it could be developed into a mixed use residential and condos that was supposed to be ritzy.
Also Cowtown Speedway closed down. But Kennedale Speedway Park is open every Saturday night through September. They have a website to check out.
