The closest is on Green Bay Road (Rt 131). There's one on the corner of Grand (rt 132) and Green Bay next to a restaurant, , and another, bigger one with a pool and restaurant about 2 blocks south. There are also three at Fountain Square, farther out neat Rt 43 and Rt 120.
Within a ten minute drive there are several budget motels. If you want something relatively upscale I would book in Gurnee, Vernon Hills or Lincolnshire IL.
We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott, in Fountain Square. It is about 5 miles away, we had a pleasant stay there. It was around $100 for a night.
Budget hotels is a relative term. We're not talking Red Roof Inn, Motel 6, or Budgetel; we're talking Holiday Inn Express, Courtyard by Marriott, and a Hilton property. All very nice, clean, safe, modern, and can be had for around a $100 a night
