There are usually 2 to a room. I've been hospitalized there a few times and 2 out of 3 times I was by myself. Other than having a roommate it's very private.
Like most medical ?s, if you're in the ICU or Cardiac Care unit, if there's low census, read empty beds), you may get a more private room.) if they're watching you, b4 or after a procedure, or you're pending discharge, you might get doubled up. if your communicable. Or immune compromised, you get isolated. The doctors and nurses tend to study the factors, for best results..like I said b4, "It all Depends!"!
