Round trip is about 0.7 miles. We are slow and out of shape (had to take breaks to catch our breath on the way up), but took about 30 minutes round trip. That includes time at the top to take in the view.
The hike is somewhat short but has a steady incline with open and shady areas. The views are spectacular and worth the trip. Be aware that the road to get to the trailhead is a slow speed well- maintained dirt road. Cars can travel just fine. When you see the forest trailhead sign, enter the parking lot. There is a restroom and good signage. Note: the road continues on past the sign but does not go anywhere worthwhile. One point of interest on the hike is a large area of rock. It appears to be out of place and not to have a source of natural origin. We found some info that lead us to believe that it was an open mine now closed and filled with rocks that had been excavated from the mine. Enjoy!
