Hello! I manage the marketing for the Rio and we still have our original founder/owner, Pat McGaughran! Pat started the Rio in 1986 with his two buddies from Texas, twin brothers, Andre & Stephen Mouton.
Pat, one of the 3 original partners, and now the owner, is a great guy. When one of his employees got a chronic illness and became disabled, he helped out by allowing part-time low stress work. Not just a heartless corporation. The food is great too!
The website says three guys (who were not named) from theTexas Gulf Coast started it in 1986. There are now 6 Colorado locations. Check out the website for more details.
I dont know, we just stopped in to eat, not to get friendly with the owners. Its probably some big corporation.
I honestly don't know. We were traveling through and referred to this restaurant.
