That's how they make their money. Eat before or after. Theatre cups give you $1.25 refills.

That's where the real money is in the theater business.

I think its like that everywhere

This unfortunately is the norm for most theatres. They do offer a gray beverage deal with the souvenir cup. Perhaps a nice meal before/after the show.
