Have to surrender plates after a wreck. Does the registered owner need to sign anything, or would it be possible to surrender plates on someone's behalf???

Come in after lunch at any of your local DMV Office, that way it's not that busy . No need to stand in line. Just walk directly to the information counter and surrender your plates. It will automatically cancel your registration so you can cancel your insurance on the vehicle. No extra charge to surrender plates or cancel registration.
