There's a quota of people they admit on Saturdays. Once it is full, that's it. It is best to schedule a drive test or be very early 3am on a Saturday. Saturday is the no appointment first come first serve until no slot is available. They are understaffed right now as of 9/15/2022.
I do know they have a standby schedule. It used to be daily I believe now they only do do it on Saturdays but that you would probably don't quote me on that call to be sure or maybe email them and ask them that question specifically
No it's better by appointment, just have to be very early to get a number to get in.. its better with an appointment.
