CANNOT get through on the phone with an ACTUAL PERSON (i hate automated answering machines!) I just need to know if someone else can turn in my cars plates for me or do i have to myself (I'm not in Nevada Anymore-family emergency) Anyone please?!?

Yes turn in plates before canceling insurance. There Still needs to be insurance on the car or you will he fined . Or proof is eas sold or totaled in a accident

Yes, anyone can turn them in, but the best way to handle this is to cancel the registration through a MyDMV account (if you still have a Nevada driver license). https://dmvapp.nv.gov/DMV/Application/DMVPortal/Account/portalAccountCreate.aspx You can then mail the plates or just recycle them. https://dmvnv.com/platesurrender.htm

Thank you all! The car is in Nevada, i am not. The car still has insurance on it...i left the "sellers paperwork" signed for them but my car insurance is due for renewal. I want to cancel it but i need to at least turn in plates first right???
