The guns are locked up and you nor others have any ammo to hurt someone else.
It isn't concealed carry guns you have to check. It is guns you are returning, having work done on or making sure accessories fit before purchasing.
Good question William Gosney. My best guess, since only law abiding citizens would check them in in this fashion is that they only want lawbreakers to carry guns in their store. Which makes no sense. I was allowed in a different sporting goods store to bring my handgun in and try out different concealed carry holsters. I did this right out in the general merchandise area where I wouldn't have been allowed at Bass Pro. They gave me permission, but it wasn't "special permission". It simply wasn't against their rules.
