No. Lisa is incorrect. You need you're ID, the original or certified copy of the birth cert, AND a medical record with the baby's name and date of birth on it and it needs to be stamped and signed by whoever gives it to you. They do automatically get mailed after birth if you sign the paperwork at the hospital. It can take up to 8 weeks. If your addr is different from what the hospital had-example you moved-the post office will not forward it.
Have a valid id or your drivers licence and the babys birth certificate and your social security card and go in to office
