Do you know if Frank Philipps efforts.to salvage the " Woolaroc" were documented? I had just heard when he inquired, it had been scrapped..( the B-17, WW2, named after orig., at yr museum(?) I am granddaughter of the co-pilot.

There is a Travel Air 5000 named Woolaroc hanging in the museum. This plane won the 1927 Dole Race. But yes, there was also a B17 named Woolaroc (tail number 42-30648) that was shot down over Germany 1943. I don't know if Frank ever tried to recover the pieces after the war.

I am not sure I understand your question. The only plane we saw was the small one that is on display at the museum.
