As a matter of fact, no you do not. Not that I'm aware of, anyhow. My father's the one who bought the apartment, not me. That is something we ran into problems with while looking for a new apartment, as there is one a little ways up the road that does require good credit, for SOME reason. Ah dangit, I'm rambling aren't I? Whoops. Point is, they're good apartments that you don't need an ungodly high credit score to live in.
