I agree with Clark Kent Danner. If there is already a cable line running into your house you should be able to pick up the hardware (modem-router) you need from an Xfinity Store, connect it yourself and activate it. They should give you some paperwork with the hardware that has the phone number to call to activate the modem-router. If I remember correctly, there are some automated prompts to follow and answer and then you can talk to a live person to complete the process.
Depends call and ask, they charge for every individual item. Boxes, remotes, DVDs and any other item. Customers pay for everything including service and they raise the prices asap. Sorry
If you have already had service in the house then service can be set up remotely. If you have not had service in the house you will need a service technician to come out and install it for you.
