Hi Nivea, they also have a rental program. It is not rent-to-own, but rather like rent and get credit on a purchase. If you live in town, the rental violin they give you is one step up compared to those rented to people ordering off the internet.
While they do have a great rental program, I have always purchased the violins for my daughter. I purchased instruments that I could exchange for 100% credit (violin only) toward her next size or higher level of instrument. It has been our experience to recieve 100% credit of what we originally paid for the violin regardless if the price dropped or not. Big bonus for us! We have purchased 5 violins from Shar, the last one our final keeper!!
Hey Nivea, it depends on the violin you want. There's beginner brand violins. They generally have package deals where you can buy a violin, a bow and a case for a very reasonable price. They also offer rentals. I recently purchased about 10 - 20 sheet music & books for viola and spent about $100 to $150. I got a great viola for around $120 and 2 bows for about $200 total for both. If you check out their website though they have all sorts of options
