Just watch out with any hotels over there. Before you get in Asbury there can be some iffy ones, in Asbury on the west side of tracks I'd stay away from. If you can afford east side of tracks that your best bet. Just make sure you do research. Where HOI is is beautiful, a few blocks away west and it hasn't caught up to that yet
Well the Crystal Inn is a dive....the Empress is too overpriced...i believe the Budget Inn on Rt 35 is your best bet.

The Empress isn't bad and it's right across the street from the boardwalk, which is maybe a ten minute walk from the HOI. There are also a couple of hotel chains in Neptune (west on 33) which are a short drive away and aren't terrible.
