carribean air says check in for international starts at 3 hours prior...do you have to be there 3 hours before if you have checked in online?

I normally 2hrs are safe, but I always tryed to arrive Terminal 2.5 - 3 hrs ahead, when I travel international flight, Rarely you will see very long line on check-in for baggage and another long line on TSA. Personally I prefer waiting at the gate, instead missing flight. Young Park

Long lines are a reality. Chances are you have to wait in long lines for security clearance. I wouldn't risk it, so bring your laptop, a good book and be there three hours before your flight.

Plan on arriving to the airport 2 1/2 hours prior to our flights. Allows for traffic, wrong turns and check in lines. Although we may have figured our tickets ahead of time with pre flight check in that doesn't change the time of take off. We make things easier by having everything ready. Remember no water or liquids from home or this will delay your screening process.

1.30 to 2 hours is enough but to be on the safer side I suggest minimum 2.
