ANYTIME a animal has blood in the stool should be checked with a vet.I would rather be safe then sorry.
Colitis... my westie got it... get royal cain gastrointestinal dog food. Have it checked w the veterinarian asap.
It could just be stress from a change. Blood frequently is present when an animal strains (diarrhea, constipation) try a bland diet for a few days then slowly back to normal food. You also can give a little canned pumpkin that helps a great deal.
