I know a female with 5 young girls and a baby on the way homeless where can I send her for help asap in elgin tx or austin
They do not take dogs, there was one guy who tried to get his service animal up to the third floor and he was forced to leave with his dog, it was pretty sad but anyways no pets are not allowed at the arch
The ARCH has a case manager that will guide you through the process
Everyone has but me that is ok
I would talk to someone at the ARCH, or maybe better, The Salvation Army, right next to it. I'm not sure about dogs, as I didn't see any when staying at the ARCH(run by Front Steps), and Salvation Army, even calling both would give you the best recommendations. Many more housing programs available than when I was there. Too bad no welfare here! I'm from NYS, and you can get assistance for 6 months, while you find a new job, etc. After 6 months, no check unless you do whatever work they request. Usually 6 months is enough for most to get a new job, etc. In the old days it was totally misused, but seems fair now. I've seen families on the streets because of losing a job, can't pay rent, now homeless in Austin. Sad.. Salvation Army may have the most information, but Front Steps/The ARCH may help as well. There are also "bording houses", usually a room, few meals a day, about $500/month, month to month. Definitely explain your situation, and what your future plans are. Always helps! Good luck my friend. May you be blessed very soon with a great solution!
I don't know what are supposed to do
