Is the library even open? I've left several messages over the last several weeks and no one calls back. Does anyone know if there is a genealogy research area in the library? Its a 6 hour round trip and would prefer to know before making that drive.

Robin. The best lace to go is genealogical society of old Tryon. They aren't open. They do have a Facebook page. Old Tryon has transcribed boos for sell, that has wills, deeds , marriage bonds, etc. They also have some CDs tat have been beneficial to me over the years. Bill floyd did transcriptions of almost all of the cemeteries in the area. And put them on CDs..I have had 2 sets of these because I wore the first ones out. Lol

I have been in the library several times and can confirm they are open. Not sure about the genealogy area.
