June 17, 2018 early morning we bought a frozen smelt because the one we asked weren't available. At the beach, everything was perfect except that the bait they sold us was rotten. We are very disappointed it ruined our day!

frozen bait is like that. you just need to use it after soaking in brine which will stiffen it up. I learned the hard way myself from other bait shops. Fred's Bait shop treats everyone with respect and just ask questions and you'll get great advice
