Welcome to the community - at least soon enough. The HOA provides security via EMC. They setup the system, teach you how to use it. They can also provide monitoring services. If you have a landline (or VOIP) no additional charges, however, if no landline, you will need the equivalent of a cell phone type device that would allow the communication to them (an extra charge monthly).
