It depends on the series you run in. Most have a beginner class and you move up from there.
www.wdcr-scca.com Start with your own car in HPDE/PDX classes, move up from beginner to advance then take Competition License school test. Pass that with flying colors and then have fun wheel to wheel racing for real! :-)
You have to take short classes at the site, and they have different levels of entry. TV hey also rent equipment if you dont have your own. I hope this helps.
